General findings

  • Text alternatives: Some icons lack text alternatives. The site also contains links that lack descriptive text alternatives. In addition, some buttons lack text alternatives describing their function. (WCAG 1.1.1)

  • Videos: The videos contain content that is conveyed solely through images. In addition, there are videos whose content is not described through subtitles or audio description. (WCAG 1.2.1, 1.2.2, 1.2.5)

  • Headings: Some pages have an illogical heading hierarchy. The Events page is missing headings. (WCAG 1.3.1)

  • Lists and grouping of visual elements: Many visually listed contents lack programmatic list markup. (WCAG 1.3.1)

  • Tables: Some tables are missing header cell markup. (WCAG 1.3.1)

  • Labels and instructions: Some elements are missing the label that is programmatically connected to the element. (WCAG 1.3.1)

  • Form grouping and labelling: Some form field groups are missing naming and labelling. (WCAG 1.3.1)

  • Active element: The active link element on the search results page lacks a programmatic indication of its active status. (WCAG 1.3.1)

  • Use of color: The active value in the product type selection menu is highlighted only by color. (WCAG 1.4.1)

  • Text contrast: The website contains light gray text in many places, which does not provide sufficient contrast. In addition, the contrast of red error messages on forms is insufficient. White text on orange buttons does not stand out sufficiently when focused. (WCAG 1.4.3)

  • User interface element contrast: Some light gray and light orange elements lack contrast. (WCAG 1.4.11)

  • Resizing text: The content of the footer stands out poorly against the background when the text is enlarged. (WCAG 1.4.4)

  • Images of text: Some images contain text for which there is no text alternative. (WCAG 1.1.1, 1.4.5)

  • Keyboard navigation: The site has features that cannot be used with a keyboard alone. (WCAG 2.1.1)

  • Page titles: The search page lacks a descriptive name. (WCAG 2.4.2)

  • Focus order: The site has sections where the focus order is illogical. The site also has features that automatically scroll the page without moving the focus along with it. In addition, the "show more" features do not bring the focus to the content that appears. (WCAG 2.4.3)

  • Link purpose: Some links are missing text alternatives. In addition, the text equivalents for some links are not descriptive. (WCAG 2.4.4)

  • Focus visible: Some focusable elements lack a visible focus style. Some focus styles are not sufficiently distinct. (WCAG 2.4.7)

  • Navigation gestures: Some image carousels can only be browsed using swipe gestures. (WCAG 2.5.1)

  • Label in name: The visible names of some elements do not correspond to their accessible names. (WCAG 2.5.3)

  • Required fields: The purpose of the asterisk symbol indicating mandatory fields on the form is not explained. (WCAG 1.3.1, 3.3.2)

  • Custom checkbox elements: Customized checkboxes are not usable to keyboard and screen reader users. (WCAG 2.1.1, 4.1.2)

  • Nested interactive elements: The site contains nested interactive elements that are not accessible to screen readers. (WCAG 4.1.2)

  • Buttons without a meaning: There are buttons on the website that do nothing when pressed. (WCAG 1.3.1, 4.1.2)

  • Screen reader feedback when loading the page: The screen reader user does not receive sufficient feedback about the page change. (WCAG 4.1.3)

  • Screen reader feedback when page content is updated: The pages contain dynamically updated sections, and screen reader users do not receive sufficient feedback about these updates. (WCAG 4.1.3)

  • Cookies: Links and buttons lack contrast. The text alternative of the button that opens the cookie dialogue is in English on the Finnish-language website. The status of switch elements is conveyed only by color. Some of the content of the cookie dialogue is in English on the Finnish-language website. (WCAG 1.4.1, 1.4.3, 1.4.11, 3.1.2)

  • Main navigation: The main navigation elements lack a visible focus style. The sublevels of the main navigation cannot be opened using the keyboard. Information about the functionality of the buttons is not conveyed to screen reader users. (WCAG 2.1.1, 2.4.7, 4.1.2)

  • Language selection component: The button that opens the language selection view lacks a description of its functionality. The drop-down menu labels are not programmatically linked to the menus. (WCAG 1.3.1, 4.1.2)

  • Select software feature: The operating principle of the feature is unclear to the screen reader user. (WCAG 1.3.1)

  • Accordions: The accordion elements lack descriptive, programmatic markup, making them difficult to perceive with a screen reader. (WCAG 1.3.1, 1.3.2, 2.4.3, 4.1.2)
